KNITTING: An unusual pattern for some Knitted body warmers, vintage style; very cosy and comfortable made in a soft wool mix.
The ‘body belt’ has fitted body shaping and no fastenings, for extra comfort and back warmth. The bed socks are actually well constructed enough to wear as daywear socks too.
Although I am sure there are more modern alternatives for “sportswear” as originally advertised the cosy knee warmers would make a thoughtful gift for anyone suffering with their knees in cold weather.
The original yarn was similar to “sock yarn” in 20% wool/30% acrylic/50% polypropylene and knitted to a UK DK -8ply or light worsted tension gauge ( see details in other image here). Thermoknit also came as a 4ply so check, if you use a vintage ball.
