KNITTING: Another design from the Hobbie Toys booklet by talented toymaker Barbara Barlow ; this lifelike and detailed pattern for Dinah Donkey makes a characterful creature. I hesitate to describe it as a toy because it is quite a complex thing to put together-and the original has wire inside it! However it is knitted in basic stocking stitch (and some loop stitch for the head) so the actual knitting is not too hard if you can follow the intricate shaping; an interesting thing to create. It would make a lovely gift for lovers of real donkeys.

Size is not given-but in double knitting it will come out (very approximately) at around 18inches (45cm) high. EG there are 36 rows to the finished ear.
