KNITTING &CROCHET: A Vintage collection of five cosies in a reprint of earlier treasures from other publications; all still going strong for decades before. The pattern includes a good range including a completely traditional fluted /pompom knitted version, plus two more knitted cozys with lots going on in textured stitches and a riot of colour!
There are also two crocheted tea cosies; one a charming little “cottage”; the other with more texture for insulation. This last one has a beautiful hand drawn illustrated page, carefully showing how to create the “blob” (their word!) stitch in the crocheted rows. In fact all the instructions are very clear, in row by row, plain English.
This is great compilation for a tea cosy lover. I just wish it was in colour; this last one uses “sunshine” “cherry pink”, mauve, “turf green” and “pilot blue” ( R.A.F. presumably) !! Sunglasses to the ready …
The others use “riff red”, “duckling blue”!!!-briar rose, petunia, royal blue … and topping the (pale blue) cottage-burgundy loopy thatch. I can say no more!
Tea cosies are always a handy thing for a proper cup of tea-or just for the fun of making them!
They make great gifts too; with or without tongue in cheek… and good for authentic cosplay props!
