CROCHET: A timeless style despite its vintage age, a crochet shell top is always useful . This is an easy but delicate stich pattern especially pretty as shown in a boucle cotton  lightweight cotton/synthetic mix would also work well.

I have some of the Coolspun thread from more recently; I would say it is a DK( light worsted /8ply) and the boucle bobbles are quite pronounced.(assuming it is similar I will include an image for you)

This pattern is from the very late 60s. You can see they have annotated its original price ready for UK currency “metrification” in 1971 (from sterling shillings and pennies, to the “metric” pence price sticker).
