KNITTING:   A cosy cape to knit in boucle yarn with inset side pockets; it can be worn open or buttoned up into a poncho; or just make it with a join instead of an opening to get a normal poncho.

You can also make this as a short capelet or neckwarmer item by omitting the main body part.

Tension gauge is 16st x 24 rows- so a soft chunky would work if you don’t want a boucle –or indeed a “poodle” effect.

All things Parisienne and also “Poodle” dogs were on trend around the time this retro pattern was published; in much the same way owls and unicorns etc. are now. So someone in marketing must have thought…”why not a yarn?” LOL. I have some of it and it is VERY soft and light-this pattern helpfully came with a photo of the available colours too (see image).
