CROCHET: A lovely, simple, crochet maxi dress that is perfect for summer weddings- or just warm summer days! It is a “mother and daughter” pattern which is given for a range of sizes (which is handy for dressing a variety of bridesmaids)!
The delicate lace of the bodice and sleeve gives a nostalgic vintage look which is perfect for today’s hippy or boho wedding styling. The matching shawl adds a great finishing touch-or would be nice on its own!(Shown in the short cropped image).
The skirt is super easy to crochet in plain treble crochet stitches(US dc)which unfortunately is not photographed well in the original image. However, you could also substitute a cotton lawn fabric for the skirt and just use the crocheted bodice and sleeve for an equally lovely dress which would be much quicker to make! A dainty floral pattern would look so pretty for a summer dress too.
[The child size is given as “6” –a vintage French notation which could be French or American sizing - or even age! However the size around the chest on the lace/plain stitch join is approx 20 inches/50cm]
