KNITTING : A vintage toy clown doll pattern-very easy knitting in rectangles of garter stitch (all plain rows) sewn together.
Clowns were a popular subject-but his original look is a little scary, with rather unpleasant eyebrows and tufty hair. I have given him a much happier face in my photo-and he has cheered up considerably! Anyhow he can now be any character with his simple doll shape to knit; he likes to dress up as a pirate actually! The clothing of trousers and waistcoat ( pants and vest in USA-but these would be his undies in UK!) are removable and a variety of other dolls clothes can be made from their shapes.
