CROCHET:   A classic “A” line dress; in both child and adult sizes with a plain, empire line bodice on a skirt worked in an unusual openwork lace. The dress is worked from the bustline, skirt down and bodice up, and although no mention of it is made, it is shown lined as the lace is fairly open.  However –for a festival or beach dress…it’s probably fine without!

The gorgeous chunky lace is made in an easy row pattern with bands of plain crochet for stability; and the high neckline is also edged in the same stitch. The child size has a small “Peter Pan” collar effect but the adult size has a stand up collar similar to the chokers that were popular at the time.

It comes-unusually- with both short and long sleeved options. Unfortunately the pictures are incredibly badly cropped (by the original photographer, who went for art not clarity..) but both style of sleeve is worked in plain treble (US double crochet) with a lace band at the bottom. It would easily make into a sleeveless version or as a tunic over trousers.

Pattern comes with pictorial ‘how to crochet’ on the last page, and with the huge size range is a great value addition to your collection.( Perfect for a short wedding dress option –and/or..all the bridesmaids covered in one pattern!)
