KNITTING: A lovely version of the classic hand knitted teddy bear to knit from this vintage pattern from “Weldons”. This teddy may be very vintage but he is still super cuddly-and easy to make. A great start to toy knitting; he is made in easy garter stitch (all plain rows) in “thick wool”! The wool is more of an “Aran” weight, so made on the No: 8 (4mm) needles it would be quite firm. If you use DK (light worsted) go down a couple of needle sizes to get a firm texture, or the filling will show through. That would produce a slightly smaller teddy –otherwise he is quite big at about 17inches/43cm.
He would definitely add that “vintage look” in styling to any bedroom; and is probably a must have for any toy box or baby shower!
