KNITTING: Spot the dog, a popular doggie name from the 60s for a popular little sitting doggie toy. He is easy to knit in garter stitch (all knit rows) in flat pieces with minimal shaping. His spots are knitted separately and sewn on after knitting the main pieces, although you could use intarsia or duplicate stitch if you prefer. I think duplicate stitch or “Swiss embroidery” ( i.e. sewing exactly following the knitted stitches) is probably the easiest method.

There are no instructions or diagrams in the pattern for embroidering the eyes, so I have included an enlarged photo of them to help with this.
